Columnist terms

Short, because there is little to say and it should all be readable.

What you give us

You keep the copyright of your text and your pictures. By publishing a column you give the publication a non-exclusive right to show it, to keep it in its archive and feeds, and to translate the headline and lead for its own navigation.

What you promise

That the text is yours, that you have the right to publish every picture you upload, and that what you write is not someone else's work passed off as your own. A column is signed with your name, and the signature means what it says.

What we may do

We may take a column off the site at any time, without notice, and we tell you when we do. A withdrawn column returns to your desk as a draft. We may end an account that publishes advertising as a column, or anything unlawful.

Your account

Your account is a Chakloon Passport account, the same identity used across the network. Your name, address, password and photo live there; the byline, the biography and the language you write in live here. Deleting your Passport account ends your access to this desk.
